Layer Cake is very well cast with some of UK's finest on display. Daniel Craig delivers the super-cool yet fragile lead who finds himself in harms way, that obviously went a long way in him being handed the 007 franchise. Colm Meaney is excellent as a loyal button man for a bad boss and Michael Gambon delivers some teriffic dialogue and mesmerizes every minute he is on screen. Sienna Miller brings a real steaminess as a risk taking ganster moll and yes, is worth getting shot over. The flashbacks and long list of characters boggs things a bit, but overall Layer Cake is a keeper in the tradition of Snatch. |
