A father has a lot of influence on a son.
Lack of success or sadness in a person's childhood is easily passed on to the progeny if care is not taken.
Therein lies the origin of the main character's obsession. Inhibitions of emotional health have devestating results on everyone concerned.
This movie has amazing motifs, dealing with sex, drugs and new age agenda.
All these thinjs produce anxiety, especaiily in teenagers!
Truth is examined. Metaphorically, the question is asked. Is an addled life unadulterated by drugs ( MLB - steroids) better or worse than an enhanced life using exogenous enhancements?
Provocative amd thought provoking!
Thumbsucker nails the ambiguity of the broken egg
problem. Even if Humpty-Dumpty was put back
together. Some yolk would be lost.
Thumbsucker is definitely a must-see movie! |
