Not for younger viewers. I found the sexual subject matter surprisingly funny and, at times, satirical. The nuanced message about love and compatibility will be lost on adolescent viewers. The movie follows the actions of three couples who get to know eachother in different ways. The fourth is a threesome that never quite comes to fruition; but the foreplay reveals the hidden sexual drives which lurk below the surface and are most often impossible to articulate in person. The movie touches on the isolation and complexity of modern life and the difficulty, if not impossibility, in aligning one's most intimate fantasical sexual desires with relationships that society will permit. The movie raises the question of whether the separation and isolation of human experience can ever be overcome by sexual intimacy. |
