I plan to see this movie regardless of the public reviews, but I just wanted to add my 2 cents to the racism debate. I don't think that most of the people who give "black" movies bad reviews as rasict, but they really don't understand that life is a constant struggle for minorities and our true lives aren't all killing, gangster rap, pimps and hoes. It's just a differnce in the inderstanding of the cultures. We understand white culture because we were force to learn/live it. Now we are attempting to educate the white commmunity with our real culture in attempt to make them see who we really are as a people. Most of these "black" movies are about family and family values and how we face/deal obstacles and sometime we overcome them and sometimes we don't.
In all don't just call people racist because they didn't get the movie; help them understand what the movie attempting to convey to audience. In the long run the we win as a country. |
