My 12 year old and I went to see this movie last night. I liked some of the messages this sent to my daughter. I would have liked to see their relationship based on something besides having sex everytime they met. Hollywood seems to be behind the times on the call to abstinence and the emission of sexually transmitted diseases. Now that my midwestern, mother of teenagers, hoping to avoid becoming a grandmother until after they get out of college opinion is stated, I enjoyed the premise of the movie. Anyone looking for, and not seeing, love at first sight in this movie is blind. They do fall in love in the first scene. Emily is just disappointed with the mentality of Oliver needing to get his "duck's in a line" before getting into a relationship. This was a common mentality of people 7 years ago when money came before relationships. I suggest any Mom taking their older teenage daughter to see this movie, so the girls can see that true love can wait until the time is right. Emily made herself unforgettable and Oliver finally saw her as what was important in his life and not the business plan that he thought was more important. Bridgette had the money, Emily had the love. |
