I saw a sneak preview this past Saturday to wonder if they had anymore tickets left and I was very surprised that they still had more tickets to this sneak preview and it's worth the money.
I truly enjoyed this film very much. It was very inspirational and if you enjoyed any sports films that's made by Disney, this is the film for you, especially to all the fans of basketball that may want to learn the history of basketball. The theme of this film are "racism" "triumph over adversity," and "determination." As shown in this film, coach Don Haskins (Josh Lucas) recruited African-American players who can help Texas Western win an NCAA Championship. He showed that color and race isn't an issue, but he taught his players, both African-American and Caucasian, determination, the basic fundamentals of basketball, and discipline to meet coach Haskins expectations.
Last but not least, Josh Lucas did an outstanding job as coach Don Haskins and didn't recognize Jon Voight as the Kentucky Wildcats head coach, but also did a wonderful job. The story was inspirational and consistently told very well and this is like another "Cinderella" story told based on real actual sporting events.
This movie is worth the money and it definitely exceeded my expectations. You'll laugh, shake your head (due to racial issues and epithets) and cheer as if you're experiencing NCAA basketball in 1966. Go see this film. |
