I have to admit that I am a sucker for sports movies and I love basketball but this movie far exceeded my expectations. I saw it last week during the sneak preview and I left the theater thinking that it was one of the best sports movies I had ever seen. It tells an amazing story about triumph over adversity (and who doesn't like a good underdog story?) and what makes it even better is the fact that it is true. I think would be suited for children with parental guidance-due to some of the racist language- and it should hopefully stimulate dialogue about and unsavory period in United States history. I plan on making the movie part of a lesson plan when I start teaching!!!! |
