Okay, this wasn't Titanic or Million Dollar Baby.........and it didn't pretend to be. This is a standard fare Disney movie with the typical positive messages about going for what you love, the underdog overachieving, geek becoming star, brain becoming jock, rebelling against mother's dream, me against the world kids movie.
I took my 8 year old daughter to see it and she liked it. I really liked it. Impossible to happen, I know.....that a total novice could turn into a serious skating competitor that quick.........but it still worked for me.
Let's not kid ourselves, we go to the movies to be entertained and I was. It was clean - no sex, no drugs, no alcohol, no bad words (absolutely none at all)........and I love when they make a good CLEAN movie.
And the filmmakers prove over and over and over again that they can make good clean ENTERTAINING movies.
Take your kids........it works pretty well and it's clean. Enjoy. I gave it a B+ because it is entertaining enough without winning an Academy Award.
