I remember the first time I saw this movie. I wanted to see Dick Van Dyke more than anything. I was a child and enjoyed him as Bert in Mary Poppins. In fact, I probably didn't understand that he wasn't really Bert, and to my dismay later in life realized he was Dick Van Dyke. Not the magical man I saw in the child's story. Nevertheless, this movie was wonderful. There are loads of stars and all are terrific! I loved the beautiful gowns and costumes Shirley wore throughout. What a life that would be, to experience for myself...it's just an excellent movie...it took me away to a place I'd like to be...a girl's dream to wear so many different gowns and to be so irresistable to so many different men...amazing!! |
