Not bad...worth a one time viewing.

The Good War was an interesting story which I knew little about prior to viewing the movie. The star actors in the film were outstanding while some of the supporting actors were awful. In particular, there was a scene in which the escaped Italian was brought back to the camp. The soldiers who delivered him to Roy Scheider looked like ordinary people they grabbed off the street to fill in. They offered some of the worst lines I have seen in a movie in a long time. About three quarters through, the story got a little draggy and boring. The end of the film was not too dramatic, but it worked out to an extent. I honestly can't slam the movie, but I cannot give it a rave review either. It was alright worth one viewing. Recommend with several reservations. |
