Lame and completely unoriginal. The references to past movies fall flat. If you've seen Pulp Fiction and Get Shorty why bother watching this recycled garbage? The storyline is awkward and all over the place.
Was this film supposed to be funny? I almost laughed one time. The babbling white guy thinks he's black joke has been done so many times that it's just not funny anymore. Rent The Jerk instead. The Rock is funny but is not enough to save the film. His being gay brings some laughs the first few hundred times and after awhile it's too much. Actually, I was more entertained by the buffoon next to me that cackled like a hyena even when no one in the theater was laughing. Maybe he was drunk? Wish I would've had some to pass the time.
I imagine half of the director's budget went to Christina Milian's tanning oils. Her caked on brown skin is distracting and kinda gross-looking. Was she trying to be black like Vince Vaughn's character? The girl can sing though.
You know a movie's a mess when the camera actually focuses in on the products being advertised. This was like paying to watch two and a half hours of commercials filled with too many celebrity cameos. If you're going to shell out bucks to see this mess, shame on you. |
