Binder's idea and writing were quite good. However, he needed to add a woman writer and share the credit. He just does not write well for women. Next, he should have let someone else direct. It would have given some balance to his run-away enthusiasm for himself and his opinions. Without some checks and balances on the writer-director-actor, his film is like a lot of Clint Eastwood films; unfocused, self-indulgent, very watchable, but unsatisfying. |
