Honestly, this is the best Kevin Costner performance I've seen in a long time. This film is truly a credit to each actor in it. Joan Allen is fabulous!!! Thank you to Kerri Russell, Erika Christensen, Evan Rachel Wood, and Alicia Witt for their excellent performances as the Wolfmeyer daughters. Finally we have a healthy look at binge drinking, a woman's anger, and mother-daughter relationships without pandering to the heterosexual male audience. No offense fellas, but hallelujah! Every mother and daughter should see this, as well as every girl who has every been snagged by the allure of a drink to stave off emotional pain. I hope this treasure of a film doesn't get forgotten come next Oscar ballot season. Blessings to the cast and crew! |
