This movie was extraordinary, but you'll quickly forget the baseketball, even though it was a nice touch for fans of the game. You'll cheer on Carter (Samuel L. Jackson) through out the movie and hope that he'll beat the odds. His tough attitdue shapes up these children into men and is an emotional rollercoaster, which in this case is good. This movie may not totally get you satisfied with the sport but the story is gripping and you'll quickly fall in love with this movie. Here's some advice when reaing your local newspaper... critics (not all of them but most) are people who expect the world from movies. If there is a movie out there that has never been done before, they absolutely love it... pending it has only one superstar or less. Lets face it... nobody loved "Spanglish". But with the movie "Terminal" which in my opinion was great... the critics don't like classic Hanks. Yes, basketball movies have been made before and yes, sports stories with tough coaches have been made... but the morals and the movement were overall prevailing. |
