Good but not great

White Noise was just like expected, I didn't expect to be scared out of my mind or have to keep a light on at night after I watched it, nothin like that, but it's does have it's tense moments, or jumpy parts which I like to call them.
The beginning of the movie sort of drags along for 20-30 min., but it soon catches up and gets alot better after about 40 min. in the movie. The story was good, the main part of it makes sense (him trying to make contact with his wife through EVP.) But the twists will without a doubt will leave you confused at one point in the movie. Unlike some movies, this one has a good ending, not a great ending, but not a horrible one. The ending sequence is pretty twisted as well as unexpected, but if you paid attention through the majority of the movie, it will all unravel at the end and make sense.
Acting was very good, I've seen some of Keaton's movies, most of which were action or comedy's. I think he's a great actor.
The direction was good as well, the director was successful at turning this movie into a drama as well as a supernatural thriller. I think he did great, the first half hour of the movie is mostly about the death of his wife, then the supernatural part takes place shortly after.
There's really not much to say about the visuals effects in the movie, there was no CGI's or explosive action scenes, but the ghosts appearing in the TV's were pretty cool and creepy looking.
Overall, this movie was worth the money, I would wait to see it again at the cheap seats or wait till it comes on DVD, but if haven't seen it yet, take my word for it, and go see White Noise. |
