Ever get the feeling, that they just don't make heroes anymore? Well they do, and the proof is in this true to life story. In the middle of the Rwandan genocide, there stands a modern day Oscar Schindler. He was a Hutu and a hotel manager for a Belguim 4 star hotel. He managed to save over a thousand lives. His story and the story of the halocaust no one cared about is immortalized in "Hotel Rwanda."

Another brilliant acting performance by Don Cheadle who amazes audiences with his range. There will never be a "Don Cheadle" type of film because the man can do anything. Sammy Davis in the Rat Pack. That way-ward Angel guy in the Family Man. As soon as Hollywood puts an Ouzi in his hand, he'll become the next billionaire. Till that time folks, we've got a bargain on our hands and I hope you take advantage.

Sophie Okonedo portrays the wife of Paul the hotel Manager, the "beside every good man there is an incredible woman" type. Sophie's acting is incredible. So much so. that I almost bought a ticket for central Africa to go wife hunting, till I remembered, 'hey Sophie lives here!'

Some will criticize that, given the potential for more scenes that would've revolted those few movie fans left with the sensitivity to find genocide revolting, the movie stops short. Point made, the movie veers back to the story. Perhaps they're right. Perhaps this is the one time in ten thousand when the scenes requiring barrels of fake blood would've served a legitimate purpose. But that would've been crossing genras. This wasn't a slatter film. This was a re-enactment.

I love the fact this movie was done by and for an international movie community. Twenty years from now, as a culture, we'll be digging desperately through mountains of cellose dross for something we can be proud of. The film, Hotel Rwanda is something we can feel proud of. And we will look back with even more pride, if history records we supported it.

What are you waiting for? Go see it!
