Many western people are confused that why Mei died many times and awaked again and again, especailly after the dagger was inserted into her body. The reason is that, with Chinese GongFu(not just fighting), people use internal energy(in Chinese called QiGong) to save people who was deadly injured. If Mei did not pull the dagger out of her body, Jin still have a chance to save her life by using internal energy(QiGong) through his hand. But if the dagger was pull out, blood flow out of the body, internel energy is not able to save her anymore, this is why Jin want to stop Mei pull out of the dagger.
Actually, there are tons of Chinese TV series are called WuXia TV series, many people in the series were died and recured again and again by QiGong. In Chinese martial art(GongFu) history, the usage of internal energy of the body is much more important than just fighting.
I grew up with Chinese WuXia Movies, this kind of WuXia series is on the TV every week. but they are just TV series which is visually not as good as Wuxia movies in theatres. Fairly speaking, this movie is not the best but a very good one.

Hope my explanation can help some people who are still confused by the end of the movie.
