If I didnt know better, I would think this was a Kubrick film. Great use of sound and set design to create mood. Acting is great and directing even better. For those who dont like to have to think deeply, this is not the film for you. The director/writers leave so much up to the viewer which is a welcome change from the wrapped up packaged crap that has become so common. It has been a few hours since i left the theater and I am still thinking. I have to admit, however, that there were only six people in the theater and my high opinion was in the minority. It is a strange comparison, but if you like the pace of Eyes Wide Shut, you will likely appreciate this film. Additionally, I saw reviews that described this as a very sexual film. Nonsense, there is one sexual scene with minimal nudity. Prudes! |
