I laughed, I cried, I guffawed, I had to keep my macho face on, even as my eyes welled up. And throughout this dramedy, I had to see what was going to happen next.
Adam Sandler pulled it off, again. And Paz Vega, a newcomer to American cinema and Shelbie Bruce, performed beautifully as mother and daughter. Add Téa Leoni, Sarah Steele, and Cloris Leachman, and you have an outstanding crew that played well off each other and their performances were brilliant!
The clashing of cultures made for great comedy as well a better understanding of each culture.
This was a warm, lovely movie, intertwined with comedy, and great acting!
On my scale (best= full price, good=matinee, OK=dollar movie, so-so=wait for video, bad=forgetaboutit), I rate it a FULL PRICE Friday night movie. |
