One of the most under-rated movies this year

This may not have been the best movie of the year, but I think it may be the most under-rated. You had to actually look for places that played this movie, and there weren’t many, blink and it’s gone. I always see that, and somehow it makes me not expect much from the movie because theaters decided not to show it. This movie was such a nice surprise. The movie stars Laura Linney as a thirty-something woman who decides to give love a second shot. The story is as complex as it is simple. The complexity doesn’t lie in the woman’s life or in the dialogue, but it lies in the way the film maker forces us to look at the characters in two ways, how they perceive themselves, and how their potential mate perceives them. It’s rare that a film does this in such a brilliant manner. The result is a pretty in depth view of life and love that anyone can identify with and understand. This is one of two fantastic performances by Linney this year, the best of the two in my opinion. She holds the whole thing together, bringing a lifelike hilariousness to the character.
