After seeing this movie, I just had to check the reviews. And I have to say that the critics are way off the mark on this one. This movie sucks you in and moves at a good pace with minimal exposition. It compares fierce indigenous people with high society. Scenes of these indigenous people accompanied by anthropological commentary interspersed throughout the movie make for an interesting and educational experience. At a deeper level, this movie is about social groups and how one must behave under a framework of unwritten rules which govern power and acceptance into those social groups. This movie definitely gets an A rating. |
