The real life story of the Crips and the Bloods is actually a very twisted, sick, and tragic tail. In the early nineties, these two gangs ruled cities, and caused intense urban warfare. Whether people realize it or not, we are still affected by this; even today these two gangs are still fighting eachother, but they are not nearly as intense as they were at one point. This movie embodied the tragedy of these poor boys and men that were casualties of the street wars. Watching a viscous and brutal man turn into someone that was nominated for two different nobel prizes makes you look at everyone in a different way, and it makes you wonder what you yourself are capable of. The acting was top notch, the story was something that I will live with forever, but the directing was a little off. They cut the movie very strangely, with weird flashback sequences in place that they shouldn't be. I give this a 4 out of 5. |
