See this film just to see Jamie Foxx shine in a role that predates his critically acclaimed "Collateral" and "Ray" roles. Lynn Whitfield is also outstanding. Frankly, though, the real standout in this film is the character of Tookie Williams. He's a guy I wanted to not like, but in the end, felt much empathy for his plight. |
