This movie is excellent for two different reasons.
First - It is a love story. A love story that starts with kids. We see both the kids and the love mature.
Second - it is a war story. A war story that shows the futility of killing. And it displays the reality that wars kills young men. The French lost more young men in the first 5 months of WW I than did the US in all of the 20th Century, and the US has 5 times the population of France. |
