This is a very good movie, cut from the same mold as Seven and Silence of the Lambs. The acting is mediocre and there are a few scenes which definitely ask you to "suspend reality." However, the concept and the gritty scenery more then make up for the film's shortcomings.

The premise of a Serial Killer who really never kills anyone is very interesting. Watching Adam and the good doctor try to put together pieces of the "Jig-Saw" puzzle and free themselves from their filth covered cell becomes very unnerving at times.

There are several scenes in the film created to scare or raise the hair on the back of your neck, but perhaps the scene that struck me more then any other involved Danny Glover emerging from a shadow in a dark apartment. (Those who have seen the film will understand what I am talking about).

The plot is very delicate and any in depth review may lead to ruining the film for others so I will wrap it up with one last thing. I have read a few other people's reviews and anyone who claims Saw was predictable is flat out lying. If 500 people watched this film, 500 people would not be able to begin to predict how this story unravels. Anyone who says differently simply did not see this film.

If you liked Seven or Silence of the Lambs, check this one out.
