Trey Parker and Matt Stone get away with all the kind of stuff we all WISH we could in the politically correct atmospheres of our crappy jobs and academic institutions. How do they do it? By being as intelligent and arty as they are irreverent. Team America, World Police, like Southpark-Bigger, Longer and Uncut, allows the dynamic duo to shake the shackles of basic cable broadcasting standards and dance on the cutting edge of the motion picture rating system. And they do it with a big, sloppy grin, buckets of mayhem, good-natured blasphemy and a wry twist of society's titty. If you have a problem with blood, barf, balling, bullets, *****s, bazookas, Ben Afflek bashing and balls, you probably should stay home and watch the Heidi flicks you found in the $4.99 bin at Best Buy. But if you have a sense of humor and you're not a ***** (one of three types of people - see the movie to discover the other two), then plunk down your eight-fitty and go see this epic saga of string-guided satire featuring some of the most expressive marionettes this side of Fireball XL5. If you're like me - and everyone should be - you'll marvel at the technical sophistication of this flick while you bust a gut at the endless string of visual, musical and verbal gags that are pulled off with split-second timing and flawless editing. This one's a winner! Go! F**k yeah! |
