Now please don't get me wrong, I was REALLY looking forward to seeing this popular japanese re-make ever since the previews began airing. I'd look at the commercials and just shudder, and commercials never do that to me.
I must say, this movie was actually a HUGE dissapointment. I predicted everything before it happened, and only two scenes scared me. Here's the movie in a nutshell:
*bam* *creak* *floor moan* "I shouldn't go in there, but I will anyway" *Death*
I just saved you $7.50. You can thank me for it later.
In the movies' defense, however, it did have an original storyline, and I really liked how scenes would change and go back in time to give the viewer more back story.
I'm starting to see a trend here. This movie was very similar to The Ring, and while watching the previews to other scary movies coming out soon, I realized that there's always:
* a little kid that's sort of innocent and emo-ish, but can feel the ghosts and stuff
* a pale and dead girl after everybody
* a telephone. A black chordless one that stands upright and has message recording functions. The main character will ALWAYS be afraid of the phone when it rings.
* a stupid bitch that hears the noise and gets all scared, but goes into the dark room anyway. |
