While not as good as Dog Town, Peralta has made a very, very good surf film. He's got great classic and modern footage and he's got a couple of very interesting characters. This movie provides many moments when I get chicken skin (goose bumps), or just wanna hoot. It covers the history of surfing, giving respect to the early big wave surfers, and explains how big wave surfing has gotten to be such a "big" phenomenon. Noll and Hamilton are perfect characters to develop. I can see how someone may grade more critically than I have, but do not understand some of the other reviews. |
