The tale of the death and rebirth of a Black Man's understanding. Truth, sexuality, survival, relationships, career, self-actualization, morality, God (implied), judgement day, redemption. We see his denial, anger, depression, bargainig, and acceptance thereof.
All driven home in the creativity of the plot, it's graphic displays, humor, music, and scenery.
It is a 21st century tale, with 21st century scenarios.
I laughed/cried, and the audience applauded.
