You won't find a great deal of action or dialogue in this gem of film. What you will find is peek into a culture so vastly different from our own. The Mongolian nomads featured in this film struggle to maintain their long-standing, simple traditions of herding and family life while being exposed to the ways of the Western World in the forms of television, motorcycles and satellite communication.
The beautiful Mongolian camels in this movie are just as important to the film's message as are their human counterparts. The story of the two primary camels is a beautiful one which not only makes the camel weep but the audience as well.
If your attention span is short and if documentaries are not your thing, don't bother with this movie. However, if movies exploring cultural diversity and animals interest you, then I strongly encourage you to see this movie. |
