A WONderful movie. Beautifully shown with care and reverence for the families and their animals.
The unfolding of the story causes one to unfold ones heart. At the climax of the story this viewer was awed not only by the resolution on the screen, but the simple beauty of the concept. A very uplifting, joyful, cathartic experience.
To my knowledge this film is incomparable, there has been nothing quite like it. The method of "living" with the family with camera at the ready is not a new one. However, they are not "interviewed" or manipulated and there is no contrivance at all.
It is not claimed to be a 'documentary' but it would come closest to that definition and would be a standard for the purest form of that genre.
I can't wait to be able to buy it on DVD and show all my friends who sadly missed it on the big screen. |
