I've been waiting for a good sequel for a very long time, and I must admit that Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was better than the original. A lot of people may disagree with me, but I truly enjoyed the sequel more than the original. These are my thoughts about the movie so feel free to disagree.
SPOILERS!!! BEWARE!!!!!
The plot is better:
In the sequel, Jack is once again up to no good. He is in search of a treasure chest which contains the power to control the sea. Of course he can't do it himself, so he relies on Will and Elizabeth. However, our favorite couple is held for treason for helping a fugitive (AKA- Jack). In exchange for their freedom, Will Turner must retrieve a compass which Jack posesses. In the mad hunt for the treasure and their freedom, the three adventure seekers must embark the deadly sea, Davey Jones himself, and each other.
The visual effects are amazing:
While watching the film, one will feel like he or she was in the realm of auctual pirates. Everything from flying ships to dangerous monsters, this movie will make you believe that even the impossible can be done.
Twice the action:
Compared to the first movie, this one have tons of action sequences. (well, maybe not tons, but a lot) The movie did not feel like it was dragged out, rather it leaves you wanting more. The action sequences are a lot better than the first one, take my word on it. It was well thought out and very well coordinated. Rather than fighting with one sword, you now have two swords. While you're at it,let's throw in some guns and fire. It'll leave you on the edge of your seat.
Overall, this has been the best movie that has been released this summer so far. It'll leave you wanting more, and it leaves you pondering. I loved the orginal movie, and I thought that it was going to be very hard for the sequel to be as good. However, I was very very wrong. The sequel is soo much better! |
