I was inspired both times after watching this film. The first time made me think gladly about myself as an artist, because the beauty of the film made me think straight away about the director and his sensibility for his visions. I therefore wanted to be sensible too, as an artist. The second time not only reminded me of my own sweet thoughts of happiness, but actually had a practical effect on my action towards those thoughts. American films usually have an impotency in this respect, in that the emotion aroused is discharged by the time the movie ends. However, 'Bon Voyage' is an entertaining film, but this doesn't mean that it can't be a work of art. It is not only elegant, fast, and charming, it's tension, rhythm, brilliant shots, and score work like watching a great opera production of Bizet's 'Carmen.' -Geno Palilla |
