I saw this film on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Yeah.. the movie, the story, is flawed in parts, but overall I found it to be funny
with authentic ghettospeak (not fake hollywood scriptwriter's interpretation). I especially was amused by Queen Latifah's character as the overzealous security guard of the neighborhood. The characters of Lil Dee and the heavysset twins were also a BIG plus and the southern Kentucky black hicks. The butler was perfect, Jenifer Lewis was great too. Compared to so much high budget crap we've been subjected to this summer (I fell asleep in the middle of Bourne Supremacy) this Low/No budget film was good for some laughs. I didnt feel ripped off when it was done mainly because I went in expecting a silly movie with silly characters and thats what i got for my $10.25. This movie, love it or hate it, does stress the importance of family and that shines through and through. We're it not for some explicit language and adult themes, this coul easily be a film for the whole family. No nudity though and wish the was more Eve screen time. Johnathan Silverman was really good in this film, as was the Endorsement Lady, (Miss Peters) played by Marcy Reid.
Lastly, I would still put this film above any of the MAtrix sequels or Spider-man 2, but, thats my opinion.
