This is one of those rare, haunting pictures that stays with you after you view it. I would venture to say that it was breathtaking. The whole picture had me trying to figure out exactly what the hell was happening and by the finish my jaw dropped. Such an excellent film filled with excellent performances, most noteably from Christian Bale who looks like a skeleton with skin. One of those films like Memento where every scene really means something and in the end it all ties together. Pay close attention because this movie is filled to the brim with detail and perfectly executed. The perfect example of how the mind can block out a tragic event and a person's life can become a haunting nightmare filled with confusions anf taunting demons. Until our protagonist learns the truth he cannot eat or sleep and he is coming apart at the seems. The meat of the film could be called a character study but this film has so much style and substance to back it all up. A really thought provoking and disturbing drama that won't appeal to everyone but most should appreciate it. Excellent. |
