Really horrible...

I LOVED the first movie. However, I really hated the sequel! In the first movie, Zelleweger was loveable, relatable, and funny. In this movie she was over-the-top, irritating, awkward and totally foreign. I was laughing in the first movie at her hilarious mishaps. This movie seemed strained and her situations repeated and forced (cue: butt shot coming towards the camera over and over). I also felt myself not relating to Jones but rather DISLIKING her immensely and feeling frustrated and annoyed for awkward mistakes made repeatedly. The script was poorly constructed with very few new situations. The ones that actually were new were completely unbelieveable (um, Thailand?!?) and totally bizarre. As well, the director doesn't make you LIKE Jones and therefore you have a completely impossible time wondering WHAT both Firth and Grant see in her (enough to re-hash their pitiful fighting scene set to pop music again in this film for a tortuous 5 minutes...). I was completely annoyed by the end of the film, which wasn't helped by the man sitting behind me telling his wife, "She isn't funny this time. She's like... a PSYCHO". I couldn't agree more.
