I took my younger sister to see this movie and was extremely disappointed. The trailer, which didn't give away the actual plot of the movie, made it seem a lot cuter than it really was.
The overdramatized film attempts to show the audience the what life is like being a high schooler, but it is greatly wrong. Being in high school myself, I know that there are clicks, but there definately is no spot, most people don't even sit in the same place everyday! I also realize that upperclassmen guys do not attempt to create lasting, sincere relationships with incoming freshman.
The movie also promotes breaking the law which I found to be quite disturbing on Hollywood's part. It teaches the younger kids things like driving with a permit by yourself is ok, driving without a lisence is ok as long as it's an "emergency", and breaking and entering is ok as long as you don't get caught.
This movie follows the trend of showing that the most important thing about high school is to become popular which is not true.
Overall, this movie shows high school in a wrong light and had a poor story. |
