This movie is just a waste of anyone's time. There is nothing redeeming about this movie. It is just so mean-spirited and awful, and repulsive in nature. There isn't a moment where we don't feel like total sh*t. Honestly.
DMX is just okay too, I suppose there is no way to make this guy likeable in the least- and I suppose that's not the point but still, the main character of any movie should be somewhat understandable. But no, we never even find out WHY he treats people like this. Bad upbringing? Most likely. I don't like to guess. Especially when I care so little in the first place.
Michael Ealy is just okay too, his character sort of becomes the film's "good guy"- if you could possibly call him that. But he is almost as dispicible as DMX's wretched character. And David Arquette is completely and utterly miscast here. Not to insult his acting skills, I'm actually a fan of his, but this role just wasn't for him, because it too has little redeeming factors. No one in this movie is likeable- the whole movie is unlikeable. It's disgusting.
"Never Die Alone" should die alone, hopefully disappearing into obscurity as the talented cast moves on to bigger and hopefully better things. This is a movie that makes you feel like crap throughout the entire run time, and there isn't a single bone in your body that should get any enjoyment out of it. |
