Fun With Dick and Jane is a very funny comedy and probably ranks among the best comedies I have seen in a long time. Jim Carrey is hilarious and I was very surprised by the performance of Tea Lioni. I compared the teamup of Tea and Jim to the recent Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis hookup, Christmas With The Kranks. In that movie Curtis was fine but it seemed like Allen delivered all the good jokes and carried the movie. With Dick and Jane, Carrey and Lioni have their supply of laughs and have surprisingly good chemistry, they are a great match. As far as the humor goes, this film has some of funniest laugh out loud moments I can remember in a while. The last film I can remember laughing so hard at was Meet the Fockers, but this one is probably a little more funny. If you are looking for a deep story you won't find one here. It is fine, as it takes a look back at the recent corporate scandals in Enron, etc. and gets the job done. I actually like the story to a certain degree: it was funny, original, and not too complicated. Critics complain about the Hollywood lifestyle thing, but ignore them, they are full of themselves. Check Dick and Jane out, its very funny and overall a good time, you will have a lot of FUN! |
