Although, this movie if funny, you have to wait for some of the grumpy characters to get over their tantrums to get to the good parts. The movie was a little akward as it tried to justify or explain the relationships of the characters and why everyone was in the same room as one another. But, then again its been 12 years since I saw the first one. This movie is clever with appearances from beloved "legendary characters". The visuals are awesome, giving the experience of walking through a magical winter wonderland. The idea that the North Pole was turned into a Canadian toy factory was humerous, eh? And, its always funny when movies use everyday items and manipulate them to the theme, (i.e. "Red Deer" energy drink). Amazingly, Tim Allen and Judge Reinholdt can still make you laugh. However, Tim Allen was funnier in the bloopers, than his on-screen character allowed him to be. The story is good, but has been done before. This is a movie for adults who are still in love with Christmas. However, it is not childish and magical enough for the audience the movie seeks. There isnt as much Christmas flavor as expected. And nothing can go right in the first half. My daughter cried through half the movie because she was scared of Jack Frost taking over the North Pole. I probably liked it better than she did. |
