the Princess Blade is simply an awesome movie. I think the characters were pretty well crafted; they're made more human than most other action heroes. For example, Yuki (Yumiko Shaku) is a top notch assassin for the Takemikazuchi, but she is also haunted by a past that she can't forgive. The action choreography was pretty awesome following a mix of Japanese sword fighting and Hong Kong action sequences, courtesy of Donnie Yen. Cinematography was beautiful and provided some depth to the movie's overall mood. |
