Scary Movie 4 delivers all the laughs!

I'm a long time fan of comic genious David Zucker. His films like "Airplane!", "Kentucky Fried Movie" and "Top Secret!" were all hysterical. When he took over the directing role of the "Scary Movie" series for #3 I went hysterical! I loved that movie...a lot so I didn't think that any sequel could top it. Scary Movie 4 doesn't exactly top it but it is almost as good! The opening scene with Dr. Phil and Shaq was funny and the movie just kept getting better. Anna Ferris returns to her only major film frole as Cindy Campbell. The movie followed a similar story to that of War of the Worlds (only funny and not incredibly dull) but managed to squeeze in "side-story spoofs" of The Grudge, Saw and The Village (among others). The final scene with Oprah was the highlight of the movie and had me rolling down the isles. I think if you liked the third entry you will like this as well. This isn't the best in the series (it is behind #1 and 3) but it is a lot better than the rather lame Scary Movie 2. |
