Wow, and I thought Scary Movie 3 couldn't be topped -- this brings in the goods and many more treasures along with it! The actors/tresses are so comical and perfected in humorous acting (even Dr. Phil and Shaq) that even entirely normal dialogue doesn't hesitate to crack you up. But it's not just the acting that is knitting a safe maneuver of protection, oh, no, it's everything... as simple as that. This movie expands its branches, which makes it even funnier, as there are definitely many more mocked concepts that relate to the common people, the most heavily advertised the Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah's couch scene. Which is cleverly able to emulate the actual scene, plus add its own self-created little tid-bits to cause showers of laughter from the audience. But putting what you see besides you, and the behind-the-scenes work in front of you, they did what appears an effortless job. The script was successful (more than it, allow me to add) in erupting laughter from its viewers, and was quite smart and witty, as well. The directing was beautifully done, able to tie all of the parodies of movies (and much more, too) together, yet flowing in a smooth, mannerly fashion. I, myself, was quite surprised that they were able to entwine so, so very many different, varying plots and storylines together and have a movie so comically well-made as a result from such risky experiments. Of course, the acting is well-done -- with the dumb blonde play of Anna Faris and the fierocity of Regina Hall returning from the former three movies. Even the fresh faces take full advantage of their scenes, whether plentiful or few. It's so difficult to walk out of the theater after not recapping all of the funny scenes (which is, basically, all of them). Trust me, this is the type of movie you will be quoting with those close to you, and those not, for an eternity. Scary Movie 4 is, without a doubt, the best of them all. |
