Don't expect a great thriller but a good story

First of all, I'd like to say that the Village was overhyped about leaving you in the highs in the tension meter. Although I was expecting a better thriller made by Shymalan, what I got instead was a story worth watching. The critics who rated this movie definitely showed their dissapointments in their reviews, but don't let that stop you from seeing this movie if you can just leave the thriller part out.
There was only two parts where I really jumped, but only because the sudden spike in volume. Visuals and camera angles were pleasing to the eye. Some parts of the movie were a tad slow, but I still appreciated Shymalan's work. The acting was just fantastic from all the cast. Towards the end of the movie, it might get a bit confusing because flashbacks and scene switching aren't clearly obvious, but that may be for just some people.
Overall, I would recommend watching this movie if you want to go to the movies and can't decide what to watch. |
