While this is the second movie released in 2004 that deals with the President's daughter getting "involved" with a secret service agent, it is by far the better. That's no claim to fame though since the first was Chasing Liberty with Mandy Moore. They are both cut from the exact same mold and have very little new ground covered.
One variation that is somewhat interesting/twisted here is the First Lady does not side with her daughter at any point. She places the politics and needs of the nation before the needs of her daughter and demands she leave school to go on the campaign trail after the embarassing dancing on the bar fiasco.
Katie Holmes is 26 years old playing a college freshman and looks every bit the part. Way to go Tom Cruise. What does Scientology have to say about that you freak. |
