The fourth installment of the widely popular Harry Potter series presents itself as exciting and dramatic. The Goblet of Fire is a tale about when the infamous Harry Potter gets picked to be in the Triwizard Tournament, hosted at Hogwarts (his wizardry school). He is far too young according to the rules, yet somehow the Goblet picked his name.

The first task involves getting past a large, ferocious dragon and then capturing its egg. The movie spent more time on this than the book did, but the entire scene is thrilling to watch. The sound effects are impressive, and visuals receive an A+.

The second task is when the contestants have to go into the Hogwarts lake and rescue a person that is dear to them (who is being held by the mysterious merpeople). The filming is excellent, considering it indeed was filmed underwater. At this point, you can see the actors struggle with their underwater performance. That is understandable, though; it's not very common to be in that type of scene.

The third task is to capture the Triwizard cup in a vast maze. The maze has towering walls that were ready to consume the contesting wizards. In the end, Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter decide to split the win. From then on, there are spoilers, so I won't go into details for those few who are not familiar with the story line.

The maze is beautifully created, and the scene is breathtaking. At the end, Harry finds himself face-to-face with Voldemort (Played by Ralph Fiennes - who is not even recognizable).

Mike Newell is the first British director. He truly brings out the British characteristics that J.K. Rowling includes in her novels. The witty humor, boarding school environment at Hogwarts, and the general mood of the atmosphere makes you wish Newell was hired for the fifth (Order of the Phoenix).

Going along with the minor contraversy, I agree with the PG-13 rating. There are violent and action packed scenes, but that's nothing new these days. Parents: If your kids have read the fourth book (Which is definitely darker than the movie, as all the books are) then they should be able to handle the movie. It's not like the movie will teach your children cuss words, modern violence, and sexual themes like most modern PG-13 movies (I'm thinking James Bond, Flight Plan, etc.).

It's a movie to enjoy, and its a thrill waiting for all those who plan to see it.
