This movie was as much a launching pad for the coming Nightstalker film as it was a sequel to Blade. I can understand why Wesley Snipes would feel slighted in this film. The Blade brand is simply being used to promote The Nightstalkers film. I was disappointed in that regard. But beyond that lays a pretty descent little action/ vampire flick.
This movie as a stand alone is slightly better than Blade 2. I wasn't expecting anything new or ground breaking in terms of plot and so I wasn't disappointed. Ryan Reynolds was funny. Jessica Biel was hot and Wesley Snipes carried the martial arts load. And with the action and sci-fi genres both starved lately Blade trinity was kind of a refreshing mindless hack 'n slasher.
Not as good as the first, but not bad. Great film to leave the women at home. Grab a couple of buddies have some chicken wings and a 12 pack and hit the cineplex. Jessica Biel's breasts, Ryan Reynold's jokes and Wesley Snipes' Silver Samurai Sword are waiting. |
