I just got back from seeing this movie and i had to change into a new pair of pants ...... ok, not really. :) ----> Actually there's nothing really scary to this movie.....the tone of the music along with the "extreme" closeups of the actor's faces are what give away the actual "scary" parts. Although not a bad thing for wussies like me, but I'd like to think of this movie as an action film with some zombies thrown in rather than a horror film.
As with most action movies, the intense action tends to get old after a while and i found myself getting bored with the numerous zombie "bullet- in- the- head- blood- shooting-all-over" scenes. Gee, i never knew ALL those people trapped in the mall were professional sharpshooters ..... even an old lady gets some zombie headshots on the first try. Then again she's a trucker lady, so i guess i can see her as a rural Annie Oakley!
Anywho, i noticed the zombies in this movie pretty much act like the "crazy" people in "28 Days Later". They emit cat-like hissing noises when stared at, they ALL run like marathon runners (full speed), they have red eyes, and they foam at the mouth. Oh yeah, the "bobbily -quivering - fast paced" camera shots used in "28 Days" is also in this movie. Sometimes it was hard to tell if i was really watching a remake of "Dawn" or "28 Days Later Part 2". But the camera style worked for 28 Days as it did the same with this movie.
All in all a good zombie flick!!!! Has good characters, some who you will love and some you will hate (trust me), the blood and gore factor is pretty good ........ not as gory as it COULD of been, but then again this is America where everything is "toned" down to the public.
:( Oh yeah speaking of toned down, a family who brought what seems like a 7yr. old child were sitting next to me in the theatre.
RED ALERT! RED ALERT! ... you have to be a total dumbass to take your young child to see a movie like this. Not only is it gory but it has sex scenes with nudity along with what seems like every second someone is dropping the F-bomb in the film also. So if you want your child looking at boobs, talking like a sailor and putting hard thoughts in his/her little mind that it's "cool" to shoot people in the head ............. well then take 'em along!!!!! But for the rest of us "earthlings" it's NOT cool. |
