Not bad.....not bad at all...

I will admit...I came into this movie a tad skeptical on how it would survive in an industry plagued with too many cliche sports movies and sappy endings. Mr. 3000 pulled it off. Watching this movie one might think he/she has the whole thing just figured out and the end is a cakewalk. Wrong. This movie does not follow Hollywood textbook for the most part.

The acting in the movie was ok...but nothing special. While Bernie Mac plays his typical somewhat ***** character well, at some points it seems almost dry. And there's the occasional support character that really has no character because you have trouble telling the "insert-generic accents" apart.

There were a few spots in the movie that were a disgrace to filmmakers though. Mainly editing issues but to anyone paying attention they are GLARING MISTAKES. In a scene where the Stan Ross and his best friend are sitting in the stands at Miller Park, the boom mic ACTUALLY COMES INTO FULL VIEW AT THE TOP OF THE SCREEN. That's horrible. Other than a few of those things the movie was done well, with good editing in the sports scenes, making it believable.

Overall the movie was worth seeing and possibly worth a DVD purchase in the future.
