I wasn't really interested in seing this, till I found that it was a remake of an older version. The old movie was said to be about corruption in a small town and how one man tries to change it. The new version is the same plot, but more on the action and less on the story aspect. ( I admired that they didn't go to over the top with the action--knowing its a Dwayne Johnson movie) The acting in this movie is pretty good all around. I thought the three main characters( the rock, Knoxxville, and McDonough--the bad guy) gave pretty memmorable performances, especially being up and coming actors. The movie thought, like i said has less story and the direction sort of falls short. This movie is also only like an hour and 15 minutes, so i felt that they could have added more to the theme. All in all it was an average film, alright if u see it in the cinema but just as good at home on dvd. |
